Community Involvement

SouthStar is committed to making a difference in the community. SouthStar supports the efforts and the following organizations:

New Hope Academy

Founded in 1996, New Hope Academy is a Christ-centered community school with an economically, racially and culturally diverse student body. The school is located in Franklin, Tennessee.

The school serves 160 Pre-K through sixth grade students at its 33,000 square foot facility that includes 16 classrooms, a library, art and music room and a computer lab. Recognized by President Bush as a model for faith-based education, New Hope serves as a resource for schools across the country that want to achieve diversity and care for the poor.

African Leadership

African Leadership is a Christian education organization that trains church leaders and funds development projects in African countries.

Based in Franklin, Tenn., its areas of emphasis include: Bible training centers serving more than 5,000 students in 30 African countries; vocational training; Christian schools and famine relief; HIV/AIDS education and treatment; and providing resources to the more than 4,000 African refugees living in the Nashville area.
