PRINCIPAL and PRESIDENT, Glenn S. McGehee, Jr. recently joined the SouthStar team bringing with him a dynamic entrepreneurial, site acquisition, tenant relations and development background. Being an innovative visionary and extreme forward thinker, Mr. McGehee’s primary focus is in charting and directing SouthStar’s future growth in the upcoming years by emphasizing and maximizing SouthStar’s core strengths in an ever competitive development market. In addition, Glenn continues to fuel the SouthStar Development pipeline through his pursuit and acquisition of prime real estate that is uniquely positioned for commercial and/or mixed use development. Glenn’s talent for building relationships and passion for teambuilding are major assets to SouthStar in today’s business environment.

Principal/President of SouthStar, LLC, Mr. McGehee began developing his entrepreneurial skills in the Health Care Industry. After completing his degree at Lipscomb University and then a 2 year Humana Executive Training Program, Mr. McGehee joined First Choice Medical in 1992 serving a combined 6 years as a Distributor for Danck Orthopedic/Neurosurgical Spinal Instrumentation products culminating with a computer assisted navigational surgery system for brain surgery. During this same time period, in 1994, Mr. McGehee purchased and operated Family Golf of Nashville, Inc. a 23 acre Nashville, Tennessee family golf center that included a driving range, batting cages, go cart track, miniature gold and a party facility. While owning this facility, Glenn oversaw a rezoning and $750,000 expansion of the facility, finally selling the business and property in 2005.

In 2001, Mr. McGehee joined the Shopping Center Group, Glenn developed relationships with and served as a Tenant Representative for several major national tenants including but not limited to Ross Dress For Less, Borders Books, AT&T, Sally Beauty Supply and others. Glenn was promoted to President of Operations for the Tennessee division in 2004 being also appointed to the Board of Directors (non-voting member) at that time. While at
